EDWARD M. OLSON
Edward M. Olson has been a Michigan native his whole life. He attended Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1982. He graduated with High Honor was a member of the Honor’s College, Phi Beta Kappa and several other honor societies. He was a member of the Tower Guard, which is an honor service organization serving blind students and professors at Michigan State University. Edward M. Olson attended Wayne State University’s School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1985. As a student at Wayne State, he participated in the Moot Court program and other extra-curricular activities and graduated in the top one quarter of his class. He passed the Bar and was admitted to practice in Michigan in 1985 and has been practicing law in Southeastern Michigan ever since.
As an attorney Edward M. Olson has been in house counsel for a national securities brokerage firm and for an equipment leasing subsidiary of a fortune 100 firm. He has also practiced law as an associate and as a partner of several law firms. He is now the sole owner of his own practice here in Rochester Michigan. He is a member of the Michigan Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association.
Edward M. Olson now focuses his practice on a range of areas including commercial litigation, corporate planning, estate planning, securities (including securities arbitrations), contracts, employment, real estate and other general civil matters including bankruptcy. He is an arbitrator for FINRA (formerly known as NASD and NYSE). He is a trained facilitator/mediator and a case evaluator for the Oakland County Circuit Court. He has taught business law and ethics classes at Oakland University, Oakland Community College and Macomb Community College. He has lectured on securities, estate planning and other issues.
